Talent Manager

The Talent Manager will oversee and drive the successful implementation of key initiatives focused on recruitment, performance management, skills gap analysis and learning and development initiatives. An area of exploration is the cultivation of partnerships with educational institutions, and the development of graduate training programs, internships, and student attachments. The role is responsible for ensuring that these projects align with the company’s strategic objectives, are completed on time, and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract top talent across all business divisions.
  • Identify and implement recruitment channels, including online platforms, campus recruitment drives, and industry partnerships.
  • Lead in the adoption of contemporary talent strategies in the organization while managing the talent management process and initiatives.
  • Identify, drive and implement strategies which will enable the organisation to effectively manage performance and identify, develop and retain key talent across the organisation.
  • Partner with Departmental Heads to facilitate career development through external and in- house training programmes tailored to enhance career development.
  • Provide high level support in the design, development and implementation of on-boarding initiatives.
  • Define critical roles for succession planning as well as facilitate and support succession planning initiatives in the Company.
  • Collaborate with the HR Managers to design and deliver comprehensive learning & development programs and initiatives, fostering employee engagement and enhancing the employee experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and international educational institutions.
  • Lead negotiations and formalize Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with universities, colleges, and training centres.
  • Ensure collaborations support talent pipelines, research partnerships, and academic initiatives aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Develop a robust internship and attachment framework, targeting students from partner institutions.
  • Coordinate the placement of interns and graduate trainees across different departments, ensuring that they receive relevant, hands-on experience.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of interns, providing regular feedback and assessments.

Education, background, and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related fields
  • Minimum five (5) years’ work experience in Human Resources Management with a focus on Talent Management, Learning and Development and Performance Management.
  • Experience in assessing talent management, executing performance management systems and executing staff development plans.
  • Working knowledge of the labour/ employment laws.
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and Business Strategy
  • Planning, coordination, work monitoring and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity, confidentiality when dealing with internal and external customers.
