The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) is seeking passionate and qualified individuals to join its team in various roles. Available Positions

1. Senior Principal Curriculum Development Officer – Creative Arts, Primary (KICD Grade 4) – 1 Post

Reporting to the Chief Principal Curriculum Development Officer, Primary Education, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the development, evaluation, and review of curricula and curriculum support materials.
  • Initiating and conducting curriculum orientation activities.
  • Overseeing subject and course panel activities.
  • Undertaking research to inform curriculum development and updating research databases.
  • Publishing research materials and contributing to the East African Journal of Educational Research (EAJER).
  • Evaluating the use of digital resources and ICT in curriculum delivery.
  • Establishing networks and partnerships for digital content development.

2. Senior Principal Curriculum Development Officer – Mathematics, Secondary (KICD Grade 4) – 1 Post

Reporting to the Chief Principal Curriculum Development Officer, Secondary Education, responsibilities include:

  • Leading curriculum development and review processes.
  • Conducting and overseeing curriculum orientation and training activities.
  • Coordinating research in curriculum development.
  • Evaluating digital integration in curriculum delivery.
  • Organizing research panels and symposia.

3. Senior Principal Curriculum Development Officer – English, Primary Education (KICD Grade 4) – 1 Post

Key duties include:

  • Coordinating curriculum development and review for English in primary education.
  • Participating in curriculum orientation and training sessions.
  • Conducting research and updating curriculum databases.
  • Organizing educational research symposiums.

4. Principal ICT Officer (KICD Grade 5) – 1 Post

Reporting to the Assistant Director, ICT, the successful candidate will:

  • Evaluate ICT systems and ensure adherence to performance standards.
  • Manage LAN & WAN networks and security protocols.
  • Supervise hardware and software specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with national ICT policies.
  • Develop and implement ICT strategies.

5. Senior Curriculum Development Officer – Physical Education, Secondary (KICD Grade 6) – 1 Post

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and evaluating physical education curricula.
  • Conducting curriculum orientation programs.
  • Engaging in research to improve curriculum effectiveness.

6. Senior Curriculum Development Officer – French, Secondary (KICD Grade 6) – 1 Post

Key duties include:

  • Developing and reviewing French language curricula for secondary education.
  • Conducting orientation and training sessions.
  • Engaging in research to support curriculum development.

7. Senior Curriculum Development Officer – Mathematics, Secondary (KICD Grade 6) – 1 Post

The officer will:

  • Develop and evaluate mathematics curricula.
  • Participate in orientation and training programs.
  • Conduct research to inform curriculum development.

8. Curriculum Development Officer – CRE, Primary (KICD Grade 6) – 1 Post

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and evaluating Christian Religious Education (CRE) curricula.
  • Participating in research activities to improve curriculum effectiveness.

9. Senior Security Officer (KICD Grade 6) – 1 Post

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing security policies.
  • Supervising security operations and contracted security services.
  • Coordinating with law enforcement agencies.
  • Investigating security breaches and ensuring compliance with security regulations.

10. Principal Studio Technical Operator (KICD Grade 6) – 1 Post

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Technical Services, duties include:

  • Supervising broadcasting and technical operations in radio, television, and film studios.
  • Managing audiovisual production and studio maintenance.
  • Coordinating outside broadcasting activities.

11. Curriculum Development Officer – Theatre and Film, Secondary (KICD Grade 7) – 1 Post

Responsibilities:

  • Developing theatre and film curricula.
  • Conducting research to enhance learning materials.
  • Providing support for curriculum orientation programs.

12. Curriculum Development Officer – Hindu Religious Education (KICD Grade 7) – 1 Post

Duties include:

  • Developing Hindu Religious Education curricula.
  • Conducting research and participating in orientation activities.
  • Ensuring curriculum materials are relevant and up-to-date.
