Reports To: Director of Projects / Senior Management,

Our client is seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing various types of developments, including residential, commercial, warehousing, holiday homes, and estates. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed at least two projects and must possess a thorough understanding of construction processes, project management practices, and the ability to oversee projects from inspection to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Oversight: Manage multiple construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
• Drawing Interpretation: Read, understand, and execute architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of the project.
• Process Management: Oversee the entire construction process, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Communication: Serve as the key point of contact for all stakeholders, ensuring timely dissemination of information to prevent delays.
• Problem Solving: Address any challenges or delays during the project, providing quick and effective solutions.
• Scheduling & Records: Maintain project schedules, keep detailed records of progress, and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
• Contract Knowledge: Ensure compliance with Kenyan construction contracts and local laws.
• Bill of Quantities & Valuations: Manage and understand bill of quantities, valuations, and variations as they arise during the project.
• Site Meetings: Organize and lead site meetings, reporting on progress and addressing concerns.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, with at least 2 successfully completed projects.
• Variety in Developments: Experience with a variety of project types including residential, commercial, warehousing, holiday homes, and estates.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of reading and interpreting architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Construction Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction processes, project lifecycles, and completion steps.
• Project Management Skills: Proficiency in managing complex projects, forward-planning, scheduling, and task management.
• Communication Skills: Strong command of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem Solving: Ability to problem-solve on the spot, foresee delays, and forward plan effectively.
• Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with Kenyan construction laws and contract regulations.
• BOQ & Valuation Skills: Solid understanding of bill of quantities, valuations, and variation management.
