Our client in pharmaceutical industry is seeking for a Procurement Assistant who will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of pharmaceutical products while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The role supports pharmacy operations by achieving a 100% fill rate, managing supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to efficient procurement and inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a 100% pharmacy fill rate by maintaining the availability of pharmaceutical products.
- Manage optimal inventory levels to minimize stockouts, overstocking, and product expiry.
- Coordinate the procure-to-pay (P2P) process in collaboration with the Payables Accountant.
- Implement procurement policies to achieve cost savings and efficient resource utilization.
- Work collaboratively with the procurement team to support organizational procurement objectives.
- Support the Procurement Manager in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacy and inventory teams to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Participate in supplier prequalification, evaluation, and tendering processes.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of quality products.
Academic & Experience Qualification
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Procurement & Logistics.
- Additional professional qualification in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
- At least two (1-2) years procurement experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment.
- Understanding of procurement regulations and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
