Logistics Officer Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Officer to oversee and optimize our end-to-end logistics operations. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring seamless coordination of inbound and outbound shipments, managing freight documentation, and driving continuous improvement across our supply chain. The ideal candidate is experienced in project tracking, KPI monitoring, and freight coordination, with a knack for solving complex logistics issues and ensuring compliance with customs and documentation standards.

What You Will Be Doing as a Logistics Officer

  • Monitor and report reverse and forward logistics issues.
  • Maintain Shipment tracker of Inbound Logistics transportation rates, contracts, and carriers.
  • KPI development and monitoring are needed to sustain continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action measures where appropriate.
  • Create and/or update work instructions, including training key users.
  • Project management and tracking of key logistics projects.
  • Maintain routings, calendar data, and other relevant master data for shipping points.
  • Realization of customer needs (adjusting forwarders, transit times).
  • Monitor interfaces and systems with necessary actions to correct issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Freight Forwarders and process all shipment documents for all Roam shipments.
  • Coordinate network channels.
  • Create appropriate paperwork for all customs processes, and ensure that inbound deliveries have accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of shipments from various suppliers

Who We Are Looking For

We’re seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented logistics professional with a proven ability to manage and optimize supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in logistics operations; international exposure will be a strong advantage
  • A solid logistics background, with demonstrated success in coordinating complex shipments and managing freight forwarders
  • Fluency in English and Swahili, with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
