Position Summary:
Mombo Sacco is seeking a diligent and proactive Loan Collection Officer to join our team. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring all loans are collected in a timely manner through both field visits and remote calls. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and preferably the ability to operate a motorcycle for efficient field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loan Recovery:
- Proactively manage and follow up on overdue loan accounts to ensure timely collection.
- Conduct field visits to clients’ premises to negotiate payment plans and resolve outstanding issues.
- Make remote calls to clients to remind them of due repayments and provide guidance on payment options.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain open communication with clients, ensuring a positive relationship while enforcing repayment commitments.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve payment-related issues promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports on loan recovery status and field visit outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of communications, agreements, and payments made by clients.
- Risk Assessment:
- Collaborate with the credit team to evaluate loan repayment risks and suggest strategy adjustments where needed.
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with Mombo Sacco policies, credit procedures, and regulatory requirements during the loan recovery process.
- Motorcycle Operations:
- Utilize a motorcycle for efficient field visits [advantageous, but not mandatory].
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business, Finance, or a related field. A degree would be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in debt collection, credit recovery, or a similar role.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle and possession of a valid motorcycle riding license is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of local geographical areas is beneficial.
