You will assist with daily accounting tasks, including data entry, financial reporting, payroll processing, bank reconciliation, and inventory management. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help maintain financial integrity and support the finance team in keeping operations running smoothly.

Operational Management

  • Record and process Purchase Invoices and Sales Invoices in the accounting system.
  • Perform data entry for Petty Cash transactions, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Prepare monthly payrolls for staff and ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of employee compensation, deductions, and tax-related data.
  • Prepare and file statutory returns such as PAYE, VAT, WHT, NSSF, NHIF, and Installment Tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and statutory requirements.
  • Upload and process Supplier payments and Salary payments on the Bank portal.
  • Reconcile Supplier Account Statements to ensure all accounts are accurately balanced.
  • Bank Statement reconciliation.

Stock Management

  • Process Stock Issuance on SAP to maintain an accurate inventory record.
  • Assist in monthly stock-taking and reconciliation to ensure consistency between physical stock and recorded data.

People and Relationship Management

  • Instill a one-family culture and be an ambassador for the business vision, mission, and values.
  • Ensure a culture of integrity and commitment to the clients, staff, and all stakeholders associated with the group business.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare various reports as required by the reporting line.

Budget Management

  • Support project management with cost control.

HSEQ

  • Responsible for ensuring the safety of oneself, other team members, and the environment.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Education/Qualification:

  • A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.

IT Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & other accounting software.
  • Experience with SAP (Business 1).
  • Familiarity with banking portals for payment uploads & KRA Portal for submission of statutory returns.

Language:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili.
  • A strong understanding of local statutory regulations including PAYE, VAT, WHT, NSSF, NHIF, and Installment Tax Returns.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and precision in data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborative and able to work well within a team environment.
  • Able to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
