Digital Communications Associate at EIDU

• We are seeking a Digital Communications Associate to join our dynamic team in Nairobi for at least 3 months starting as soon as possible. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply hands-on experience in strategic digital communications within an impactful ed-tech organisation. The successful candidate will work directly with the Head of Communications in Berlin to develop and implement content strategies across our Social Media channels and our website.

What you will do as a Digital Communications Associate:

• Develop and execute the digital content strategy for EIDU in direct collaboration with the Head of Communications.
• Create written and multimedia content for our own (website, social media) channels, as well as op-eds and articles for external channels (Medium, blogs, media op-eds etc).
• Social media and community management on our channels on LinkedIn and X. Assist in crafting digital marketing campaigns.
• Attend key events, conferences, and organizational engagements to capture high-quality multimedia content (photos, videos, interviews). Edit and curate footage for social media, website updates, and promotional materials, ensuring compelling storytelling that aligns with the brand’s communication strategy.
• Work with our Learning and Operations teams to generate insights and translate complex information and educational expertise into audience-appropriate content.
• Assist in the creation of presentations and visual materials for fundraising, research and government stakeholders.

What Digital Communications Associate should bring:

• The desire to use your skills to bring about positive social change for children across the world.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in strategic communications, content creation or digital marketing.
• Proven experience in digital content creation and social media management, particularly LinkedIn and X.
• Strong interest in social impact, education topics and science communication.
• Strategic thinking abilities and eagerness to develop impactful content strategies.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for visual aesthetics. Ideally experienced with capturing and editing pictures and video footage.
• Experience with Google Suite applications for presentation creation, knowledge of Figma would be a plus.
• Comfortable working in an agile startup environment, embracing change with a flexible and solution-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering inclusive and respectful communication in a global setting.
• Willingness to travel across the country to join our field and government teams to capture high-quality multimedia content (photos, videos, interviews).
