Our client, a key player managing reputable franchise brands in Kenya, is looking for a dynamic Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize their supply chain operations.
The role requires a strategic professional with over 5 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics, adept at vendor negotiations, inventory alignment, logistics oversight, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, leadership, and negotiation skills, with proficiency in ERP, supply chain software and Microsoft Office. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field is required, and expertise in inventory and logistics systems is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with overall business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing and quality, and delivery timelines. Ensuring compliance and alignment to Brand guidelines. Where applicable source for approved equivalent products after seeking management/brand approval.
- Aligning with Inventory manager on monitor inventory levels, manage stock replenishment, and minimize excess inventory, and ensuring timely processing of purchase requests by Inventory.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of products. Negotiate Air/Sea freight in consideration to timely delivery.
- Analyse supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements for cost reduction and efficiency.
- Use data analytics to forecast demand and manage supply chain risks.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and finance teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Prepare regular reports on supply chain performance metrics for senior management (Operation and Financer Manager)
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must have proven experience of 5 + years in supply chain management or logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and logistics software.
