Administrative Assistant Minimum Qualification and Experience
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Must have three (3) years relevant experience as an Administrative Assistant or in comparable position;
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized and accredited institution;
  • Mut be registered with relevant professional body;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Administrative Assistant Duties and Responsibilities at this level will entail: –

  • Providing administrative support services in the university;
  • Organizing and scheduling meetings and appointments;
  • implementing policies and strategies;
  • Providing secretariat services during meetings;
  • Implementing administrative functions;
  • Preparing and analyzing reports;
  • Performing administrative operational duties in specific area of assignment;
  • Preparing reports and records as may be required;
  • Coordination of administrative activities; and
  • Participating in quality audits.

  • Kenya Revenue Authority,
  • Higher Education Loans Board,
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct),
  • Registered Credit Reference Bureau

Five hard copies should be sent by post or hand delivery to the Administration Registry at the Assistant Registrar (Human Resource and Administration) office and a soft copy in PDF format of the application documents with the reference numbers of the positions applied for clearly indicated, should be sent to recruitment@au.ac.ke.
