Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and prepare financial statements.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely billing and collections.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, etc.).
  • Analyze financial data and trends to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements of an Accountant:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant – Kenya (CPA-K) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Kenyan tax laws.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
