As Finance Director, you will report to the UK-based Group CFO and lead all financial operations in Kenya. You will provide strategic direction, ensure financial control, and build a robust, insights-driven finance function that supports growth, innovation, and accountability.

Finance Director Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for business sustainability
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and drive commercial finance strategy
  • Oversee treasury, liquidity planning, and financial risk management
  • Ensure prudent capital allocation in line with company objectives
  • Financial Reporting & Analytics
  • Oversee financial reporting, audit, and regulatory compliance
  • Enhance financial insight with best-in-class FP&A frameworks
  • Implement dynamic forecasting tools such as Board for real-time insights
  • Contribute to the development of the company’s 5-year strategic plan
  • Present actionable financial reports to senior leadership and the Board
  • Technology & Digital Transformation
  • Champion digital innovation in finance using Microsoft Dynamics, AI, and ERP systems
  • Team Leadership & Operations
  • Manage a team of four qualified accountants across reporting, FP&A, and commercial finance
  • Promote a cost-conscious, performance-driven culture
  • Provide financial guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams

What We’re Looking For in Finance Director 

  • Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 15+ years in senior financial leadership, ideally in fintech, financial services, or banking
  • Deep experience with FP&A, strategic planning, and cost management
  • Proficient in ERP systems and financial analytics tools
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-border or multi-currency environments
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and aligned with our mission for financial inclusion
