Reports to: Purchasing Manager/Supervisor

Job Summary 

The Storekeeper is responsible for the effective management of the inventory, ensuring that all supplies and materials are stored properly and are readily available for use in the hospitality operations. The role involves maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper stock levels, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the storage area.

  • Receive, store, and issue supplies and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with inventory records.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requests to replenish supplies as necessary.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping.
  • Ensure all items are stored in the appropriate conditions to maintain quality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, including receipts, issues, and transfers.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on inventory levels, usage, and discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Follow proper procedures for storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient supply of materials.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages, and other issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized storeroom.
  • Implement and maintain an effective stock rotation system.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track and manage inventory.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the inventory management system.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a storekeeper or in inventory management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
