Summary

We are looking for a dedicated, meticulous, and self-driven Assistant Accountant. The candidate will assist in clearing a huge backlog of reconciled bank entries for several bank accounts using Tally ERP. This position is a full-time role based at our office. The candidate’s performance on this project will determine the decision regarding their transition to a full-time Junior Accountant position, which will involve responsibilities associated with the receivables function.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry and Reconciliation

  • Post approximately 3,000 back-dated bank reconciled entries into Tally ERP.
  • Reconcile all pending transactions for at least four bank accounts

Accuracy and Compliance:

  • Ensure all entries are accurately recorded and comply with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in the bank statements and the general ledger.

Reporting:

  • Provide daily progress reports to the CEO.
  • Ensure the timely completion of the reconciliation project

Transition to Junior Accountant:

  • After the reconciliation project, take over responsibilities as a Junior Accountant.
  • Manage the receivables function, including invoicing, payment follow-ups, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with other accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements

\Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with bank reconciliations and data entry in Tally ERP.
  • Previous accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry, is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
