The primary role of the accountant is to ensure that all Financial reporting KPIs are achieved and aligned with strategic corporate goals. The accountant is responsible for Irvine’s financial & statutory reporting and all financial data processing.

  • Ensures all mandatory financial reporting is done accurately and timely. Ensures statutory and company tax reporting is performed accurately & timely • Prepare the Company staff payroll and ensure confidentiality and timely payment of the staff.
  • Post the approved budget in the ERP for easy control purposes of the budget. Tracking of actuals vs budget by cost center with commentary and action plan. Ensure that fixed asset register is updated monthly in the ERP and coordinate with all functions to ensure monthly updates of register.
  • Leading, managing & developing a high performing team aligned with Company HR Policy, Values & Behaviours.
  • Motivating & enforcing team compliance with all relevant Company SOPS & policies, statutory regulations and always expected Company behaviours.
  • Deal with external customers such as auditors, banks, service providers and supplier to ensure compliance and seamless information flow.
  • Management of credit control function to ensure the revenues are well captured in the system to manage cash flow.
  • Management of creditors to ensure that payments are done in a timely manner. Ensure proper management of funds through preparation of monthly and weekly forecasts to maintain the Company’s sound liquidity and reputation.
  • Supervise bank reconciliations to ensure data is properly captured and all transactions are in order.
  • Supervise proper bookkeeping and filing to ensure all transactions are captured well.
  • Tax planning and management for compliance with the regulator to avoid penalties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • A master’s degree (completed or ongoing) will be an added advantage. CPA (Part III) or ACCA or qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in an Agri-Business set up. Good working knowledge of accounting systems and controls. Prior experience in a start-up company is an added advantage
