 Key Responsibilities

  • Administering and monitoring the financial system to ensure that the finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Timely consolidation and submission of mandatory returns i.e., NSSF returns, compilation of Tax returns, and planning and management of internal Audit processes.
  • Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems to ensure complete and accurate records of all monies. Prepare and process cash sheets on time.
  • Working in Liaison with the group finance with change management initiatives and implementation of operational model and finance management requirements.
  • Administer the bi-weekly/monthly payroll to ensure that employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner. Payroll reconciliation.
  • Mitigate risks that involve finance, taxes, or budgets.
  • Assist in maintaining the general and subsidiary ledger.
  • Ensure data is accurately and timely processed.
  • Ensure there is adequate documentation to support every transaction.
  • Coordinate with the team to ensure data is processed In time/real-time processing
  • Manage all reconciliation issues/matters in the ledgers.
  • Ensure confidentiality of company financial information
  • Maintaining fixed assets register
  • Maintaining accruals schedule
  • Following up to ensure internal controls are adhered to. Bank reconciliations. WHT recon. VAT balance and revenue recon. Retention monies, Provisional Tax, and other balance sheet items
  • Review bank statements and update the ledgers as necessary.
  • Cash flow projections (weekly actuals and monthly projections)
  • Supplier's invoice posting & payment processing into the Epicor system.
  • Debtor's reconciliation
  • Booking of funds received from customers and allocating per invoice.
  • Customer invoicing. VAT reconciliation monthly.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Coordinate and lead the preparation of annual returns.
  • Facilitate external and internal audits and implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to the finance teams including support with monthly end-finance reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with monthly filing of mandatory financial returns to NSSF and Kenya, S Sudan Revenue Authority, and other authorities.
  • Monitor day-to-day finance transactions, ensuring the maintenance of appropriate accounting records and documentation.
  • Monitor cash holdings, and ensure adequate resources are available for office and project operations.
  • Payroll management
  • Office support in the administration of subsidiaries and transfers.
  • Support the periodical review, and update as necessary.

Qualifications, Skills, Personal Attributes, and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and ACCA I CPA
  • 7+ years’ work experience with at least 3 years of general accounting and finance management practice
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial management experience
  • Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Management experience advantageous
