 Position Summary

  • The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for building and implementing HR functions to support the strategic objectives of Ubuntu Life. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR management, with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities: -

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various positions within the organization.
  • Develop job descriptions, job postings, and recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and identify key competencies for each role.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and retention.

HR Administration and Compliance:

  • Oversee HR administrative functions, including maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and managing benefits administration.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and proactively implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops, both internally and externally, to support employee development.
  • Track training effectiveness and evaluate the impact on organizational performance.

Performance Management:

  • Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and career development opportunities.
  • Ensure that performance management practices are fair, transparent, and aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Five years or more of progressive HR experience, with a focus on HR functions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement solutions.
  • HR certification is preferred but not compulsory.
