Position Summary
- The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for building and implementing HR functions to support the strategic objectives of Ubuntu Life. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR management, with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities: -
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
- Lead the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various positions within the organization.
- Develop job descriptions, job postings, and recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and identify key competencies for each role.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters.
- Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner, fostering a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and retention.
HR Administration and Compliance:
- Oversee HR administrative functions, including maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and managing benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and proactively implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
- Coordinate training sessions and workshops, both internally and externally, to support employee development.
- Track training effectiveness and evaluate the impact on organizational performance.
Performance Management:
- Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and career development opportunities.
- Ensure that performance management practices are fair, transparent, and aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Five years or more of progressive HR experience, with a focus on HR functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement solutions.
- HR certification is preferred but not compulsory.
