  • The head of clinical business operations is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution and management of clinical operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of clinical services. This role involves leading a team, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and standards whilst driving continuous improvement in operational performance.

The key responsibilities of the position include:
Leadership and strategy

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical business operations in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the clinical operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

Operational management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of clinical services, ensuring high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Financial oversight

  • Develop and manage budget for clinical operations, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify areas of cost savings and implement financial controls to manage expenses.

Regulatory and compliance

  •  Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, standards and guidelines.

Quality Assurance

  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
  • Champion initiatives to improve clinical processes, patient outcomes, and service delivery.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, mentor and coach clinical operations staff to drive professional development.

Collaboration and communication

  • Key contact point for internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and partners.

Innovation and improvement

  • Identify opportunities for innovation in clinical operations and lead initiatives to implement new technologies and processes.

Education and Experience required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Medical degree or business administration with post graduate training in healthcare operations or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in clinical operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Other competencies:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards and best practice
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing budgets and financial performance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
