    We are looking for an experienced Branding and Communications professional to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious targets for growth and impact. We seek a generalist marketing professional who is an excellent communicator, a strong team player, and experienced across a wide array of marketing skills.     Roles & Responsibilities

    You'll be a Strategic Storyteller and Thought Leader:

    • Partner with the CRO (and occasionally the leadership team) to develop a compelling communications strategy that aligns with BasiGo's goals and resonates with key audiences (investors, customers, media).
    • Craft a clear and consistent brand narrative that positions BasiGo and Pay-As-You-Drive as the leading solution for electric commercial vehicles in Africa.
    • Become a thought leader for the CRO and CEO, providing strategic communication counsel and crafting impactful messaging for public speaking engagements and media interactions.
    • Establish brand guidelines and assets, and train BasiGo sales and support teams on communication and marketing standards.

    You'll be a Master PR Manager & Communicator Across All Channels:

    • Oversee BasiGo's digital presence, optimizing our website for user experience and lead generation, and regularly update key sections like Impact Metrics, Team, and News.
    • Manage BasiGo's social media, developing engaging content and executing strategic campaigns that drive brand awareness and customer engagement.
    • Develop high-quality, targeted communications (press releases, newsletters, videos, photography, and announcements) which build BasiGo’s brand and communicate key milestones to build brand reputation and showcase BasiGo's impact on the environment and society.
    • Develop high-quality, engaging communications to customers throughout the customer journey with the goals of driving sales, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, and maintaining good repayment throughout an owner’s subscription with BasiGo.
    • Develop and implement a content marketing strategy that educates audiences about e-mobility, showcases BasiGo's technology and impact, and drives brand awareness.
    • Guide partners in developing public communications, including key messaging, managing marketing and PR partnerships, including designers, media, and media relations firms.
    • Maintain and leverage excellent existing media relations to enhance BasiGo's visibility and reputation.
    • Manage PR and reputation management efforts to uphold and enhance BasiGo’s public image.
    • Serve as the spokesperson for BasiGo, representing the company in public speaking engagements and media interactions.

    You'll be a Data-Driven Collaborator:

    • Analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives, reporting on ROI and making data-driven recommendations for optimization.
    • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across departments (Sales, Customer Success) to understand their needs and ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.
    • Partner with external agencies (designers, media relations) to amplify BasiGo's reach and visibility.

    You'll be a Budget-Conscious Collaborator:

    • Manage the marketing budget strategically, for both Kenya and Uganda, allocating resources effectively across different channels (traditional media, digital advertising, content creation) to achieve the highest return on investment (ROI).
    • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across departments (Sales, Customer Success) to understand their needs and ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.

    You'll Champion BasiGo Across the Countries:

    • Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives, conducting market research to understand customer needs and industry trends. Translate insights into actionable communication strategies that support business decisions and drive growth.
    • Provide ongoing support to the regional office in Rwanda, ensuring alignment of marketing and communication strategies across different African markets.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Relevant Bachelor’s degree, MBA, and/or International Marketing Certification.
    • 5+ years of experience in marketing or communications, ideally with a focus on B2B technology or sustainability brands.
    • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, particularly with a focus on content creation and digital marketing.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
    • Proven ability to create exceptional marketing collateral that speaks to various stakeholders.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally to our different markets, including providing support to the regional office    in Rwanda.
    • Strong analytical skills and a passion for leveraging data to measure and optimize communication efforts.
    • Strong leadership and team-building abilities. A collaborative team player with a "get things done" attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
    • Growth mindset, excited to learn and self-motivated with the ability to deliver results with minimal oversight.

    Bonus points for:

    • Experience working with a technology product or brand in the areas of fintech, auto, or electric mobility.
    • Public speaking experience and the confidence to represent BasiGo in media interviews and industry events.
    • Existing network of media contacts and experience in public relations and reputation management.
    • Passion for impacting climate change and air pollution in Africa, eager to tell the story of a sustainable revolution in Africa’s transport sector.
    • A proactive approach to work, being both a leader and a doer in an early-stage company.
