 Role Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales & Marketing Manager at ADMI located in Nairobi County, Kenya.
  • The Sales & Marketing Manager will be a critical actor in the projected growth, crafting and executing a business development strategy for our fast-growing digital media group.
  • Operating across three functions – business development, sales & marketing and donor partnerships – s/he will drive income growth across diverse vectors, units and jurisdictions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Recruit, train and motivate high-performing teams across all commercial functions. Establish strategy cascades, targets, standard operating procedures and succession plans for each role. Support and collaborate with the CEO and Senior Management Committee. Report to the Board of Directors. 
  • Project Management: Design work plans and budgets for several parallel streams of activity; establish and enforce tracking tools to monitor progress on a daily and weekly basis to deliver on monthly, termly, and annual objectives; address bottlenecks in a timely matter to ensure all sub-projects remain on time, under budget and to specification.. 
  • Analysis: Undertake rigorous online and offline research and analysis to underpin strategy, including market demand; competitor assessment; forecasting and developing annual sales quotas; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
  • Marketing: Lead development of the company’s marketing function to achieve market penetration and sales growth with a particular focus on data-driven digital outreach, product design/delivery, cost-effective customer acquisition (online and off) and brand visibility.
  • Sales: Refine and implement the company’s sales strategy across key market segments to ensure that the company identifies and optimizes a clear path to aggressive growth. Lead sales channels to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Business Development: Continuously monitor the market for potential products and partnerships that enhance profitability and reach of the Group’s capabilities and brand. Lead establishment of new campuses and territories, ensuring meticulous matching of product mix to target audience. 
  • Partnerships: Drive visibility through thought leadership, relationship management and communications and outreach to position the Group as go-to target in creative, tech and youth unemployment ecosystems. 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or CIM completion 
  • 10 years progressive experience in sales and marketing with at least the last 5 in a similar role.
  • Tech-savvy, fast learner with a blend of global and regional experience.
  • Solid domain expertise in marketing, communications and/or business development
  • Understanding of digital and content marketing principles and metrics
  • Experience leading a high-performing team
  • Track record in applying data and analysis into strategies that solve complex business challenges
  • A ‘closer’ who converts relationships into customers
  • Decisive, hands-on project manager with a bias for action
  • Personal gravitas, poise and cross-cultural sensitivity 
  • Comfort with documenting, improving and enforcing standard operating procedures
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with ability to speak in front of senior audiences
